To help you prepare for an interview, we have outlined some key areas that will hopefully give you the best possible chance to impress. Betfair is a fast paced dynamic environment and the pace of an interview should match that.

Company Research
  • You don’t need to be into gaming or betting but you do need to have a good understanding of who we are and what makes us stand out
Interview Preparation
  • You can never predict the exact questions which will be asked, but it’s important that you know your C.V. and every part of your career history
  • Practise talking through your CV beforehand
  • Be able to list out several of your strengths and areas for development
  • Know why you want to work for Betfair, why you want the role and what your long term career goals are
On the day
  • Arrive on time and make sure to have the full name of who you are due to meet
  • Make a good first impression by dressing appropriately, shaking hands firmly and maintaining eye contact
  • During the interview, stay focused. Be positive and project a great attitude
  • Listen carefully to each question
  • This is also your chance to ask any questions you may have and to be sure you have all the information
  • Remember to bring your passport/ID card to the interview
Selling your skills
  • Be clear about your own strengths and weaknesses and highlight them
  • Identify transferrable skills from your own skill set to what is required
  • When talking about your strengths, don’t just list them, it’s boring! Link them to key achievements with clear and exciting examples
  • Be prepared to not know everything. That is the point of a permanent role, to learn and grow! Remember this and remind your interviewer this too!
